Analogous to the Residencia de estudiantes and its "great men" (Buñuel, Dalí...), the Residencia de Señoritas is the little-known women's university training center, which has nevertheless seen the passing of great female figures such as Clara Campoamor. Founded in 1915, this avant-garde establishment had over 1,000 students before closing during the war. Today, it is the home of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation, which is committed to revitalizing the place's matrimonial past.
