In the heart of Salamanca, the Archaeological Museum houses one of the most important archaeological collections in the world. On four floors, the institution's holdings cover a period from prehistory to the 19th century. Among the highlights are the Egyptian and Greek collections, the reproduction of the famous Altamira caves (Santander), the sculpture of the Lady of Elche or the Treasure of Guarrazar, of the gold votive crowns and crosses that were given to the Catholic Church by the Visigoth kings in 7th century Spain.

La muséographie est très moderne et l'espace est très agréable à visiter. A faire avec les enfants.
A noter la gratuité de l'entrée le samedi après-midi et le dimanche. Par ailleurs, il existe un système d'audioguide que l'on peut télécharger gratuitement sur place pour profiter davantage des collections.
