ROMANTICISM MUSEUM
Museum in a palace of the eighteenth century, reflecting the romanticism through paintings and decorative art, garden and Andalusian patio
This 18th-century palace, the home of the Marquis of Matallana, has become a museum of 19th-century ambience. In the salon des danses, the main room, 19th-century paintings stand side by side with pieces of decorative art. In the oratory, Goya's painting of Saint Gregory the Great dominates the altar. Inside the building, you can admire the superb Andalusian patio and the Magnolio Garden, a fine example of French garden design. In short, this is a wonderful glimpse of daily life in the Spanish capital at the height of the Romantic movement.
