A haven of peace in the hustle and bustle of the capital, what a delight! The Retiro is a must, especially on Sundays.
The Retiro is the lung of Madrid: green and calm, it is very pleasant to walk around. Musicians offer themselves in spectacle (notably on Sundays), thus mixing melodies and rhythms with the colors of the park. There is also a lake where you can rent boats and pedal boats, a bicycle path, a football and basketball court... The park was built in the 17th century and is very characteristic of the baroque gardens of the House of Austria. It is also home to the Velázquez Palace and the Crystal Palace, annexes of the Reina Sofia Museum.

MAis ne vous attendez pas à un parc extraordinaire.
Il est grand, il est ombragé, il y a une étendue d'eau, quelques jeux pour enfants, quelques constructions historiques et installation pour un peu de sport.
Donc à part faire une pause verte, se reposer à l'ombre des arbres, pas grand chose à faire à part flâner.
L'ambiance y est très sympa, me rappelant les parcs de mon enfance, mais d'un point de vue botanique c'est plutôt basique et impossible de se tremper les pieds pour se rafraîchir ou que les enfants profitent d'un bel espace de jeux, c'est très restreint en la matière.

De beaux bâtiments anciens tout fraichement rénovés, tout y est pour y passer un bon moment. Un des incontournables de Madrid, et de plus c'est gratuit..
