In the heart of the Parque del Oeste, a stone's throw from the cable car, there is a magnificent rose garden not to be missed since its creation in 1955. Every year, in May, the Rosaleda Garden opens its doors to discover more than 500 different varieties of roses. Unique! A competition also allows visitors to choose their favourite rose. An oasis of freshness and tranquility of 32,000 m² in the heart of Madrid. Essential during the hot summer months or for a short moment of calm between two visits.

The souvenir that I garda date... 1957 it! yes! yes! I had been placed fifteen days rue Ferraz very côét and in the morning, by a heat already very huge - in August - I crossed Rosaleda. The municipal gardeners watered the massifs and had a pleasure occupancy me iced a " gargoulette" (flask made of earth) that did not leave me and me not to die of thirst! It was a real pleasure to start the day in the heart of roses, with a smile and " piropos" (compliment- stuffing) this always happy in Madrid for French warm welcome!

I am sure to make a day and I sure that gardeners still complement the roses in the morning and that it is very hot all during the day and... the magnificent souvenirs will make! Also beautiful walks in this beautiful park and all this particular and so inventive city.
