SANTO CRISTO CHURCH
Church with a beautiful view and a chapel with a polychrome woodcarving by Gregorio Fernandez, Christ at the Tomb
If you go up to the Santo Cristo church, a little outside the village, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. Inside the church, in the chapel, you can see a 17th century polychrome wood carving by Gregorio Fernandez, Christ at the Tomb. The Parada Tower, now disappeared, was built in the Pardo forest as a hunting lodge for Philip II. Great names contributed to its decoration, including Rubens, Snyders and Velázquez. An interesting visit.
