Like Casa Velha, the very frequented motherhouse next door, with slightly higher prices, Dona Amélia, with its precious chalet setting overlooking the Quinta da Penha França, is one of Funchal's good restaurants. At the foot of the casino, the consistently high quality table presents a fairly extensive menu of Mediterranean cuisine with options for every budget, from the classic grilled tuna steak to prepared lobster. Exposed kitchen, copper hood, pink tablecloths, old wooden chairs, hanging ferns: the setting is set!

Très bon service, bisque de homard exquise et brochette de ... boeuf ...ou veau... très bonne. La salle du bas est relativement petite, intimiste, parfaite pour les amoureux.
