The Funchal Marathon is divided into 3 races of 8 km, 21 km and 42 km.

The Funchal Marathon is organized by the Madeira Athletics Association in the streets of the capital. It is an international sporting event now divided into three races: the Marathon (42 km), the Half Marathon (21 km) and the Mini Marathon (8 km). The courses are concentrated in part on the Avenida do Mar, Avenida do Infante and Estrada Monumental. The event ends with the awarding of prizes to the first three athletes in each category. Registration for the races (online) is compulsory and charged.
