Many personalities lived there, such as the Russian Prince Maximilian, son-in-law of Tsar Nicholas I, the Prince of Oldenburg, the Duke of Leuchtenberg, Empress Dona Amélia a few years later (and her daughter who died of tuberculosis there in 1853), Queen Adelaide of England, the Count of Lambert or the French consul Nicolau de Tulière. You will enjoy strolling through these pretty alleys full of scents. The Quinta is the official seat of the Regional Government of Madeira. While enjoying its garden, fans will think that Sissi stayed there!
