Once owned by an English family, it was bought by the Regional Government in 1980 and restored for the enjoyment of Madeirans. Today, the 35,000-square-meter park boasts a restaurant, swimming pool, tennis, squash and padel courts, picnic area, children's playground and a fantastic, completely renovated garden. Here you can admire century-old trees, tropical flowers and other plants from all over the world. The manor house, a fine example of a late 19th-century Madeiran quinta, houses an exhibition room.
