This handsome, pink hotel is set in 10 hectares of lush green grounds, home to a number of centuries-old species, including Madeira's tallest eucalyptus tree (64 m!). The main house, dating from 1820 and formerly the property of the English consul, has a refinement that will please lovers of period hotels. A glass footbridge links the modern annex with its forty or so comfortable rooms. Large heated indoor pool. Excellent restaurant featuring organic produce. Hiking trails start 10 minutes away by car from Boca da Corrida.
