There is no better way to feast in Madeira than to participate in the Wine Festival. While it is also celebrated in Funchal (wine tasting, music, dance...), it is in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos that it takes root: in the morning, the wicker baskets are filled with bunches of grapes and then defy the weather to the crushing site where, barefoot, the Madeira people tread the grapes with a determined step. After that, it's time to drink and celebrate the harvest until dawn!
