This popular festival dedicated to St. Peter's plunges Ribeira Brava into a festive atmosphere.
It is in the west of the island, in the small municipality of Ribeira Brava, that São Pedro (Saint Peter) is honoured. The fiesta takes place over two days at the end of June. Popular marches are presented in a fair atmosphere. All the generations gather to parade together in the heart of the village: people dress up, dance, sing... They also eat the traditional Madeira kebab accompanied by the bolo do caco. A fireworks display projecting its colours over the ocean closes the show.
