This religious festival brings together pilgrims from the four corners of the island. One of the most important pilgrimages in Madeira.
A jubilant crowd meets in the village of Ponta Delgada, in the west of the island, to give life to the Festival of Santíssimo Sacramento also called "Arraial do Bom Jesus". It takes place the first weekend of September, in front of the church of Senhor Bom Jesus, and it spreads through the streets of the village to the sound and rhythm of the local bands Some people come from far away to attend...
