Popular with locals as well as the many hikers who ply the Machico region, this address close to the center of town is unanimously acclaimed. The service is attentive and the dishes hearty. The value for money is very good, with an inexpensive dish of the day, which can be a nice plate of sautéed calamari with salad and potatoes, or a fillet of beef served with French fries. The à la carte menu also includes seafood, grilled fish and burgers. The house fruit cocktails are delicious.
