Now Machico's main cultural hub, the center houses a 238-seat multi-purpose auditorium for a variety of shows, concerts, exhibitions and other local events, the Machico municipal library, two movie theaters, and a bar-restaurant with a terrace planted with a few palm trees. Its contemporary architecture, made up of slender white rectangular blocks raised on a series of pillars, blends pleasantly into the background.
