Don't be fooled by the unappealing exterior of this local gargote. Push open the door and take a seat in its large refectory-style room, with open kitchen and dark wood bar covered in azulejos. In this unpretentious tavern, tucked away in its recess, accompanied groups are preferred to lone visitors. But say just three words of Portuguese to the proprietor, and you'll become a pampered customer as you enjoy well-prepared meats (kebabs, wine and garlic, stews...), rabbit and poultry.
