Next to the barqueiro, Maria Lijia, a French-speaking Madeiran, has been preparing bolo do caco for 24 years, stuffed with chorizo, ham, chicken, cheese, nutella or honey. Filipe and Renato, her two sons, are the kings of homemade poncha with fresh fruit and passion fruit. In the fridge, you'll find fresh beers and sodas. A really nice place to eat on the go or to take your sandwich to the beach. Next door, the Mania Madeira crêperie to round off the moment with a granita or bubble waffle.
