This mini zoo with botanical garden is one of the tourist attractions in the central-western part of the island. Set on a hill, this oasis is the work of one man, Carlos Alfonso, and 50 years of hard work. In an environment of lush vegetation, contrasting with the rest of the island, you can take pleasure in observing several varieties of birds, including pink flamingos in the wild or in captivity. You can also chat with the parrots, including one called VIP for "Very Important Perroquet" if you understand Portuguese! Worth a look.
