Museum that testifies the strategic position of Porto Santo during the Portuguese expansion and the relations maintained by Christopher Columbus in the Madeira Archipelago. Maps, navigational instruments and various objects are gathered in the house where the navigator would have spent almost two years. The casa, on the other hand, does date back to the 15th century (as evidenced by the grain silos in the basement). Observe the portrait of Columbus painted by an Italian-Flemish painter of the 17th century.
