The name of this small restaurant pays tribute to the title of a novel by Stefano Benni, the Bar under the Sea published in 1987 and translated into Actes Sud. In a rustic and relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of the harbour bistros you will be offered fish and seafood.

DELUDENTE!

Looking for a real Italian culinary experience? For seafood this is your place to go in Rome! I doubt there is a second seafood restaurant around the Vatican with this quality and savouriness.
Family run, well rounded, friendly staff, efficient service, incredible food and wine in a simple Italian setting this snug restaurant attracts local and international celebrities with a taste for the perfect "when in Roman do as the Romans do!"
When ran out of Falanghina they proposed Fiano white wine instead, a perfect choice of an almost unknown wine outside of Italy.
Excellent! Grazie Signore Virgilio e buena Fortuna!

We got the fried calamari and shrimp to start. I got the vermicelli with clams and my husband got the carbonara with swordfish. Both were amazing!
