Just a few meters from the Pantheon, a family-run trattoria that has been open since 1961. Armando's son has added a few new and original creations to the great classics. Try the barley soup with porcini mushrooms and truffles, the duck with plums and the home-made desserts such as torta Antica Roma, a ricotta tart with strawberry jam served warm. The welcome is friendly, the dining room pleasant and the prices honest for the location, which is as central as it gets. Waiting times can be long, so book ahead.

Tres bon repas

Within walking distance of the Pantheon, a family has run this restaurant for 50 years. The cuisine is authentic. A rare pearl in this too tourist district. Simple and traditional roman cuisine, I fell for their pages al Tartuffo! a delight. The place is small. Book in advance! I highly recommend

One of the best in its category. Impeccable service.
