The location is perfect - it’s 20 minutes to the most popular places, however it’s located in a quiet alleyway
The hotel located on a 3rd floor without the lift and the staff is there only till noon
The room was large and it’s like you are staying in a museum, but textile needs to be cleaned
The breakfast is always the same, not so bad, but would be nice to add there some meat
Also, on booking it was indicated that there will be water and kettle provided in a room but there wasn’t

This was a great location and rooms.

Our room was much bigger, with very high ceilings, than those in most newer hotels. The room and bathroom were clean. The receptionist, Thomas, was friendly and helpful when he was on duty; the management was prompt in replying to inquiries.

Unfortunately, in spite of its good location, we will not go back to this hotel because there is no elevator to reach the hotel on 2nd floor and the front office is only staffed from morning to early afternoon. We had early departure and had to drag our luggage down a long -- because of the very high ceilings in each floor -- staircase which is not adequately lit.

Our family of 11 stayed for four nights at the Relais Teatro Argentina and enjoyed our stay immensely. There are six beautifully decorated rooms. Staff were thoughtful, helpful, communicative, and patient with the four children in our group. The attention to cleanliness was stellar and appreciated. The rooms were unexpectedly beautiful (my son in law who is 6’7” was particularly in awe of the height of the ceilings), spacious, and the temperature (air conditioning unit in each room) very comfortable. Breakfasts were served on the balcony or in the room and were delicious (something for everyone). Some days we came in early and some days late, but it was always with a feeling of safety and knowing that place we had chosen exuded a touch of elegance and quality. The location is within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Rome. We recommend the Relais to anyone who may visit Rome and wants to see the city by walking or by bus. It was a perfect spot, and given the high quality of the hospitality, our stay in Rome lives on in our memories as a "trip of a lifetime"!

A disgusting room and poor amenities in a great location
Our room was absolutely gross. Highlights:
- Mold on the walls
- Sink doesn't drain (this was really the worst part)
- Towels and linens not being changed
- Found a sock in one of the wardrobes
- No hot water on one of the evenings

For much of our stay, the only staff present in the hotel was the cleaner, who does not speak English.

Accessing the hotel room requires climbing 2 flights of stairs, something we did not know in advance (imagine if someone with mobility issues booked this hotel).

This was extremely disappointing and I could not wait to leave this disgusting excuse for a hotel. Only 2 good things to say- the location is great, and after we complained about our stay to the man-child staff member, he agreed to refund us one night's stay.

Sorprendente, cómodo. De elegancia decadente. Ambiente amable.

The Relais Teatro Argentina is a wonderful little property located a few blocks south of the Pantheon, directly in the heart of Rome. Rooms are spacious, housekeeping and hosts are great, a wonderful place to rest during your busy travels checking out Rome. A quick walk to all popular sights.

We loved our stay here. We booked two different rooms. Both were huge by hotel standards. Very comfortable beds, we all slept soundly. Staff was welcoming, kind and helpful every day. Located in the heart of “Centro” area, we could walk everywhere. While the four flights of stairs were our least fav thing, all the good things more than made up for the lack of elevator. Tomas took our luggage up, what a guy! Super clean, safe and comfortable, would stay here again in a heartbeat! And we never had an issue with hot water. It was very hot, no matter what time of day we showered. The little balcony with bistro tables was one of our favorite areas to sit and enjoy a lunch or snack. A charming hotel, it made our trip of a lifetime that much more special.

Where to start ?
This “hotel” is on the second level of an existing building with no exterior signage, no elevator, no ventilation in the stairwell (3 sets up) no full time staff attendance, etc. You must enter through a locked gate ( buzz in ) at street level, climb 3 sets of stairs to the “hotel “ entry door only enter is with lock security code. You can do far better in the area @ the same price point. Did I mention lack of full time staff ? It’s like self serve ? Last straw was an unplanned power outage where the hotel operator had no plan for guests handed out a flashlight & said good luck, not even thinking about how the electric entry doors would work during the outage and which would be terribly dark & hot. Enough for us - left early.

Beautiful room and nice bathroom. service is nice, thomas carried my bag up and down the four flights of stairs. however, air conditioning doesn’t work (in rome in july, when it’s 40 degrees celsius, this is uncomfortable), and my room was directly facing the reception area and front door, so i could hear everything (even the receptionist watching videos on his phone).
