HOTEL LA ROVERE * * * *
Charming rooms and a hearty breakfast in a hotel in a trendy neighborhood in Rome.
We are here in a very quiet alley, not far from the Tiber and halfway between the Vatican and Trastevere. The place is sober and very welcoming, especially since the recent renovation work undertaken. The Design Comfort rooms are decorated in a modern industrial style, very trendy. The breakfast is copious and the staff is welcoming and always there to answer your questions. It is an ideal location to be both quiet and in a trendy area, close to various pubs and restaurants.

Access to all the popular locations for me was excellent, as I like to walk at a fast pace. Location to the Vatican is amazing.
The access street is very narrow, though the taxi drivers managed maneuvering to it ok. When you leave the hotel to start walking anywhere, there is a very narrow lane to get to the main road...it looks a little daunting at first, though it was completely safe and well-lit, even when I returned a few times in the early morning hours.
Quirky access and entrance to the hotel aside, the rooms were spotless, and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Water pressure in the small shower (by American standards) was very good, and hot. Drinking the tap water was also perfect. Even the Wi-Fi was great.
I Stayed 7 days and never had any issues....they even changed out some of the windows and door frames while I was there...with no problems.
Once you get over the quirky lane access ...it's a great clean and very comfortable place.
