HOTEL ROBINSON * *
The hotel is centrally located, just opposite Termini Station. Its 10 rooms, which can accommodate 2 to 6 people, have a private bathroom, TV, telephone, refrigerator and air conditioning upon request. A dormitory formula is also possible (25 € per person) for up to 6 people in the same room with private bathroom and bunk beds. This formula does not include daily cleaning service. An address for small budgets, rather clean and much better than traps where it is easy to fall if you just look for accommodation in the neighborhood opposite the station.

Gracias
Customer service:: On the day we arrived, there was no electricity between 2 pm and 11 pm in their building and some parts of the neighborhood. This was due to a local powercut. And, we were told that it is uncommon. Understood. As a result, there was no water supply either. They did not have a basic generator to keep the emergency light and water supply running. It was pitch dark to even find your way into the hotel. When I talked to my booking agent to rebook in another hotel, we were told that the money has been transferred to hotel and so they need to refund to rebook elsewhere. Per agent, the hotel reception was not picking the call. When I conveyed this to the hotel owner, he started to scream and didn’t seem to have control over his own behavior. He then threatened to throw us out in the middle of the night, knowing that most hotels were sold out during this time of the year. I was tempted to file a police complaint for his behavior but I didnt want to ruin my vacation. Even if you dont make much of the incident, beware of the business owner’s attitude. Remember, this situation could have easily gone very bad. But, I must mention that the receptionists were kind and they all apologized for his behavior.
Hotel building:: This hotel shares space with about a dozen hotels in the same building (see photo). As an example, the same floor may have 2 or more hotels with about a dozen rooms each. When you enter, you walk past a hallway with three or more trash cans to get to the hotel. Something that we are not used to in the united states.
Room:: Very small hotel room and bathroom. For this part of the world, the hotel room size may be normal but definitely not the bathroom. There are no coffee machines or microwave in the room. There is one in reception. Coffee is not complimentary. They do have an arrangement for a room service to order food/beverage from a limited menu.ON A POSITIVE NOTE, they do clean the rooms everyday.
Location: Yes, this is very close to Roma termini. But, if you are a tourist, you are most probably going to do a trip through “get you guide”, which is cost and time effective. Their bus trips start near piazza del poppolo, which is a 30 minute walk from this place. We had to take a cab each time. Also, due to the proximity to the station, the street is congested and unclean. Southeast side of roma termini seems to be cleaner and well kept, probably due to the presence of the government offices
