The stay was superb and will definitely come back again. My family loved it as well, everything about it, the staff service was amazing, the location is unique, the room was high end luxurious, and every small detail that made me feel at home.

Just an overall great stay
The location is really perfect - u can explore everything by foot and the rooms are quiet
Also the rooms not only look really nice, they are very clean. The staff is very nice and helps you with everything you need.
We also tried the breakfast which was absolutely ok - but when in Rome I don't think you really need it, cause there are so many great places to get great food anyway.

Excellent hotel at a fantastic location, close to everything

Very new hotel. Room, AC and elevators are all new. Room was very comfortable. Restaurant is good. Where taxi drops you off, you have to bring luggage up about 10 stairs. No one seems to know the small road to front of lobby. That's only reason for 4 stars.

Great small hotel. Beautiful design and rooms. Breakfast was very good with high quality products and great service. We really enjoyed our visit

The pros : beautiful building , interesting combination of classical architecture and contemporary furniture and decor. Located close to some of the main sightseeing attractions of Rome.
The cons : long wait at reception with only one staff to attend all guests. When you happen to want to ask a question when a family just arrived for check in , arm yourself with patience. Our request for late check out was flatly denied, little recognition for the lifetime platinum status. The steps in the hotel make it difficult to move around with heavy suitcases.

The front desk staff would not be flexible in regard to a reservation made for three people for one night when in fact our son did not join us until the next two nights. They insisted that they could not adjust the bill which resulted in us be charged incorrectly 105 dollars. I like the location but this type of service considering also we are lifetime titanium Marriott members is unacceptable. We did have to call the Marriott system and open a case to resolve this. Lots of work and they know our son did not join us until the next day. Feel hustled!

This team understands service: it's warm, genuine and precise. Terrific (quiet compared to other districts), and only 15 minutes walk to just about anything you'd want to visit. I took a chance staying here, but I went with my gut, and I'm really glad I did. If you're looking for something special, you'll find it in Emanuele, Giorgia, Antonisia, ecc.; even the man that helps with the luggage is tops. I'll be coming here each year, and it's likely to be the only place I'll stay in Rome when passing through (I've stayed at 5-6 different places over the years). These people are committed to making sure the experience is a special one - not so common even at top hotels. A very happy Marriott Titanium member. Highly recommended.

Ristorante e bar decisamente all’altezza.
Ottima proposta culinaria e cocktail spettacolari.

Livello di pulizia altissimo.

Complimenti a tutti… decisamente consigliato!

Grazie per il fantastico soggiorno, a presto!

This was my 4th stay in Rome and although I've stayed in some very nice hotels, this one is by far the best. First, the location is fantastic, providing a quiet oasis in a busy city. The Palazzo Velabro is a renovated convent building in an ancient working part of the city called the Velabrum, located just below Palatine hill next to the Tiber river steps from the Circo Massimo and the former site of the cattle market on the river. It just has a wonderful ancient feeling to it and is almost a countryside setting compared to many central Rome hotels yet is still just a 10 - 15 minute walk from Trestavare, Campo di Fiore , the Foro Romano, the Vittoriano Monument, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, has amazing views, and the staff are among the best I have ever dealt with. It is a wonderful small boutique hotel that is also part of the Marriot Design Hotels family, so you get the perks of the program membership in addition to the stunning hotel.

The first thing for Marriot Bonvoy members to know is that even though this hotel is listed as part of the Marriot program it does not allow you to collect points for stays, nor does it honor your higher status in the Bonvoy program. I am not sure what is going on, but seems like they are leaving the program, or just don't want to honor it. That said, the hotel rooms are quite nice, especially if you go for a suite. More like a mini apartment than a hotel room. We didn't like the location so much, it felt a bit out of the way. But if you are looking for a very quiet stay, even in the high season, it may be a good fit for you.

I love this hotel! Great location, absolutely amazing employees. The rooms looks very luxury. The breakfast is delicious. The hotel is not big and gives a nice cozy feeling. I also used the small gym, but enough. Hope to be there soon again ????

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. I booked this hotel for an evening in Rome prior to an early morning flight. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night there were electrical problems in the room and the lights went on in the room with no way to turn them off. The phone lines also got disconnected. It was so bright, I could not fall asleep and I requested a refund for the room since they could not fix the problem and this was inexcusable. While the hotel reception apologized and noted it was an electrical problem they could not fix, they assured me that my room would be refunded and they would speak with the manager promptly. In the morning, they requested I send an email to the manager to outline the problem again, while he was apparently made aware overnight, and I would receive a refund promptly. It has been over 1 month from my stay and I have sent 2 emails and there has been no reply nor a refund. I even called the hotel to follow up on this and they assured me that they would respond to my email but again nothing. Professionalism is clearly an issue at this hotel. The people who work here are unreliable and their word means nothing. Clearly, they said everything to keep me happy until I left and decided to go back on their decision and didn’t even have the courtesy to respond to my emails. Below is a photo of the lightening in the room while trying to sleep.
While I like supporting smaller boutique hotels, I would stay clear of this one. If something goes wrong with your stay, they will waste your time and energy and offer false reassurance and promises. There is clearly something to be said about staying at large hotel chains since issues like this are dealt with promptly and professionally.

This hotel was perfect. The rooms were large and decorated beautifully. Bathroom and shower were wonderful. Everything smelled fresh.
Our host at reception, Thomas, was kind enough to give us the rundown on Rome with suggestions without us even asking.
We were able to walk everywhere we needed from this location.
A little gem of a hotel.
