Pyrotechnic shows and festivities to celebrate the patron saints of Rome. Saint Peter's Square is covered with flowers.
June 29 is a public holiday for the Romans, with many festivities in honor of the apostles of Jesus, Peter and Paul, patron saints of Rome. Several events are held throughout the city, the most spectacular of which are the traditional Infiorata in St. Peter's Square and the Girandola in Castel Sant'Angelo. The former sees the vast Vatican square covered in flowerbeds, while the latter is an exceptional fireworks display.
