OSSERVATORIO ASTRONOMICO DI ROMA
The Astronomical Observatory of Rome consists of three separate sites located in Monte Mario (Via Parco Mellini, 84, Rome), Campo Imperatore (in Assergi, in the Aquila Mountains, 110 km northeast of Rome), and at Monte Porzio Catone (Via Frascati, Via Frascati, 33, about 20 km southeast of Rome). These three structures are managed by the Groupe Disclogazione Astronomica in collaboration with the cultural association Estrellas y Planetas. On many occasions during the year, activities and public evenings are organized via an online reservation system. Please note that the Monte Mario site is the historic site of the astronomical observatory of Rome. He is currently the chair of the presidency and headquarters of the National Institute of Astrophysics. It coordinates the dissemination, conservation and extension activities of the Copernic Astronomical Museum. This museum contains an important collection of astronomical instruments, glasses, telescopes, sextents (for measuring angular separation between stars), astrolabes and solar diaries. Also presented is a rich collection of celestial and earth globes and globes, including those of Mercatore and Cassini.
