La Basilique est construite sur d'anciennes thermes romaines. L'aspect de l'entrée en ruine contraste avec l'intérieur. L'edifice est en effet grand, avec de hautes colonnes et des fresques impressionantes. Cette église est sans aucun doute l'une des plus originale de Rome.
