VESPASIANO TEMPIO
Remains of a temple with elegant Corinthian columns in Rome.
It was Domitian who had this temple built in honor of his father Vespasian. You will only see three elegant Corinthian columns surmounted by a rest of frieze. Once deceased, Roman emperors were most of the time deified, which systematically earned them the construction of a temple of this kind. It is worth noting that this temple - and especially its frieze - has inspired numerous constructions throughout history, such as the tempietto of the church of San Pietro in Montorio, the work of Bramante.
