Imperial forum with a temple dedicated to the goddess Minerva.

Little remains of the forum built by Emperor Nerva in the late 1st century (he died in 97). In the center stood a temple dedicated to the goddess Minerva. Unfortunately, from the 16thcentury onwards, the forum was used as a quarry for the many princely building sites then in progress. Adjacent to the Forum of Nerva is the Forum of Vespasian, or Peace, dating from the 1st century. Located under the via dei Fori Imperiali building during the Fascist era, the remains of the Forum of Peace have now been almost entirely covered over.
