FONTANA DELL'ACQUA PAOLA
Fountain on the Janiculum, not far from the church of San Pietro in Moncitorio in Rome.
On the Janiculum, not far from the church of San Pietro in Montorio, are the mausoleum of Garibaldi and the majestic fountain of Acqua Paola marking the arrival of the aqueduct of Trajan. Built in 1612, the latter is composed of three arches and was made by Fontana, as is the Acque Felice fountain in front of Santa Maria della Vittoria. You will notice a certain similarity in the architecture: both are composed of three arches forming a single triumphal arch. It is from there that the view of Rome is undoubtedly the most beautiful.
