VILLA FARNESINA
A superb villa of Alexander Farnese in Rome.
Villa Farnesina is the former residence of Agostini Chigi, banker of the popes. One can only imagine the splendour of this building! The villa was then sold to Alexandre Farnèse, hence its name. Its architect Baldassare Peruzzi decorated the rooms on the first floor with trompe-l'oeil paintings and the vaults of the Galatea room. Raphael created two of his masterpieces: the Triumph of Galatea, depicting the nymph on a chariot pulled by dolphins, and the ceilings of the Psyche Gallery. Also worth seeing are the works of Sebastiano Del Piombo and Sodoma.

Ce qu'on y voit est exeptionnel, mais rare.
En effet, la visite se limite à la cour, le jardin, le salon Hercule et la galerie des Carrache, le reste étant dévolu à la mission diplomatique.
