The Palazzo Massimo houses a section of the Roman National Museum and one of the finest collections of ancient art in the world.

This 19th century palace houses a section of the Roman National Museum and one of the most beautiful collections of ancient art in the world. On the first floor, the official portraits of Hadrian, Sabine and Marcus Aurelius. Part of the collection is devoted to physical fitness in gyms and baths, with two copies of the Discobole de Myron. On the second floor, we discover frescos and antique mosaics. In the basement are presented pieces, jewellery and precious stones.

This museum is part of 4 sites that you can visit on 72h00 with the same ticket at an attractive price (Altemps, Terms of Diocletian, Balbi crypt). Very fine collections on this site that are of the same quality than those exhibited in the Altemps palace.
