MUSEO CANONICA
A beautiful collection of sculptures, paintings and sketches by Pietro Canonica in a museum in the heart of the Villa Borghese.
In the very heart of the Borghese villa, the Canonica Museum is located in the 16th century residence of the Piedmontese sculptor Pietro Canonica (1869-1959) who lived there from 1926 onwards. It owes its name "Fortezzuola" to its imposing protective walls built in the 18th century. A collection of sculptures, paintings and sketches by Pietro Canonica is on display. Upstairs, we will also see the bedroom, dining room, living room and bedroom, which contain the original furniture, bequeathed by the artist's wife to the city of Rome at her death.
