A former power plant housing a museum of ancient statues in Rome.
Here is a superb example of the conversion of an industrial building. Initially used as a temporary solution by the Musée du Capitole to allow the public to continue to have access to its collections during renovation work, the former Montemartini power station presents such a surreal scenography that it was decided to place these works there permanently! And so it is that the 400 ancient statues coexist with the industrial architecture specific to the Ostiense district, to the delight of the aesthetes. A crush.
