Not to be missed. In the lively Piazza di Spagna, you'll find the Palazzo della Propaganda Fide, a major training ground for those who spread the word of the Counter-Reformation. At the foot of the famous Trinità dei Monti staircase, the Barcaccia fountain by Bernini, father and son, dates back to 1629. To build it, Bernini's son had to overcome a number of technical difficulties: hydraulic pressure was too low to create jets of water, so the sculptor imagined a sunken boat taking in water from the stern and bow, in the middle of a barely larger oval basin.

Fontaine imposante située au centre de la place d’Espagne au pied des escaliers de l’église de la Trinité. Endroit agréable mais beaucoup de monde. Beaucoup d’animations avec des artistes de tout style. Peut être la plus belle fontaine après Trévi naturellement…
