The Bologna, altissimus altissimus loci, is the highest hill in the seven Roman hills. While important personalities such as Horace, Virgil and Properce chose the Bologna to install their home, this neighborhood kept a bad reputation for centuries. Cursed and unhealthy because of the presence of marshlands, he was used as a burial place for slaves, prostitutes and death sentences.
The story also repeated in the Middle Ages, when witches and nécromanciens chose him to meet at night and celebrate their mysterious rites. After 1870 and the election of Rome as the capital of Italy, the Bologna was the victim of real estate speculation and transformed into residential residential quarters of grey buildings.
