Its name derives from the word prati, meaning "prairies" in Italian. Indeed, this area was covered on the prairies 150 years ago. In this elegant and refined area is the courthouse of Rome, also says the Palazzaccio (bad palace). Its nerve centre is Piazza Cavour, one of the largest squares in the city. A commercial area extends between Cola di Rienzo and via Ottaviano, where you can find a large number of stores. In recent times, Prati was colonized by the RAI studios, the Italian television.
