CHIESA DI SAN PIETRO
Church with a remarkable facade used several times in the Italian cinema.
Located on the mountain of the same name, where the Etruscan acropolis was most probably located, the church of San Pietro de Tuscania has a remarkable façade. With the former episcopal palace and two medieval towers surrounding it, it dates from the 13th century and includes in its decoration debris recovered from Etruscan monuments. Inside, the polychrome mosaic floor, the crypt and a forest of columns will attract attention. This church was used several times in Italian cinema, in Pasolini's Gospel according to St. Matthew for example.
