BASILICA DI SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE
A beautiful 12th century church with remarkable Romanesque portals carved in Tuscania.
A beautiful 12th century church decorated with remarkable carved Romanesque portals. Particularly noteworthy is the one in the centre, made of white marble, which presents in its frame the figures of the apostles Peter and Paul. Inside, we can see in the main nave a precious 13th century parchment as well as a 13th century fresco representing the Last Judgment attributed to Gregorio and Donato d'Arezzo. The bell tower, separated from the church, is said to date from the 12th century.
