ESMÉ MIAMI BEACH
Hotel close to all South Beach attractions, with a pool, with rooms ideal for relaxing
In the heart of Española Way, the Esmé Hotel offers a timeless escape, a dive into a sunny land. In the 140 rooms, dark wood furniture rubs shoulders with warm tones like green, ochre and terracotta. The bohemian spirit continues in the Drexel, where chef Nano Crespo concocts dishes with Mediterranean tones. On the roof, the pool awaits you for a welcome moment of relaxation that continues with a cocktail at the Pinxto bar. This boutique hotel is also extremely well located, close to all South Beach attractions.

Room +: The room was adorable. Loved the design! Option to stream via Chromecast using their WiFi! Shower is gorgeous and HUGE! Both the room and bathroom are on the smaller side, but well designed so it didn’t feel tiny. Bed was very comfortable and I loved that there was a ceiling fan that I could control!!
Room —: Paid extra for a city view balcony. WASTE OF $!! Literally just a small landing with a railing overlooking a BUSY restaurant. Couldn’t even sit outside. No view of the city. Building is too low. BOOMING LOUD party with DJ on rooftop pool beside my building. They were having fun but I wasn’t feeling well and just wanted to go to bed. Luckily (for me) there’s a curfew and they had to shut it down by midnight. Rooms aren’t soundproof and I could hear movement in the hallway. Also not sure I’d wanna stay there during bad weather/rainy season since you have no choice but to walk outside to get to the restaurant or go to the front desk. Someone forgot to put even 1 towel in my room. Had to drip dry my hands & call front desk. No place to even hang a hand towel in the bathroom. Stain? on decorative cover at the foot of the bed. I’m curious how often they clean it? Threw it on the floor. Hopefully they washed it! Obvious mark so not sure how it was overlooked.
Service +: SUPER nice upon check in, answered questions, quick to answer the phone, attentive. Overslept and called asking for an extra 15 mins to check out. They were busy but allowed it. They even offer to hold your bags and let you use their chairs and towels if you want to go to the beach after checking out! Breakfast was really good but limited options when you include it in your reservation. Separately it’s quite expensive.
Service —: ***IMPORTANT!!!***
Blindsided by a $145 cc hold required upon check in! Expedia told me $45 and I didn’t have enough on the credit card I brought with me. Stood there for a few mins stressing and moving money from my checking to credit card. FRUSTRATING. I was tired from traveling and not feeling well. Totally unprepared for that much to be held! The 5 star LUXURY hotel I recently stayed in only held $100! ZERO towels in my room. Took over 20 mins to bring some & no hand towel or washcloth. 3 bath towels. Upon check out was told I had $94 in charges. WRONG. I used nothing in their “mini bar”. The man next to her double checked and corrected her. Only took $45 that I was actually prepared to pay. WHEW!
Location +: Quaint fenced in Spanish “villa”. Side gates can be entered your card. Had to walk outside but it was a beautiful corridor. Thought I would get lost but it really was easy to navigate. Close to the beach and lots of places to eat close by!
Location —: Next to a loud and busy restaurant. Not sure how safe those side entrances are since no one is monitoring.
Despite some negatives would I stay here again? Now that I’m prepared, yes. I’d give it another chance. Just NOT during Spring Break or rainy season and will definitely not pay extra for the “balcony”.
All the staff was kind, accommodating and really helpful. The MVP of our stay was Delisa. She hands down made our experience beyond expectations. She is so personable and friendly - it felt like she was our friend from the first moment we started to chat with her. As an anniversary gift she sent us a bottle of champagne to our room.. That was the cherry on top! I would definitely stay here again.
Arrived on a Sunday night, and there was a lot of noise (music with significant bass vibration) from the rooftop bar and street.
Monday night was much, much quieter.
Additional regular vibration throughout stay, possibly from the ceiling fan of the room downstairs as it seemed to be produced on an interference pattern. Noticeable in bed and through floor, but not to the point of stopping sleep.
Rooms small, but nicely furnished. Beds and bedlinen very comfortable.
Temperature control good, and decent blackout curtains too.
Good quality bathroom toiletries.
Staff great. Friendly and helpful.
Location great for restaurants and seafront (5min walk).
Expensive place, but nice. I'd happily stay again. Problems above are mentioned for completeness, but certainly wouldn't stop me returning. Noise would be less of an issue if on the correct timezone, and staying up later.
