Small hotel, great stay and restaurant

Centrally located near miracle mile and several embassies this boutique hotel is a hidden gem. It is tiny, quite, and unique. I’m not sure if I would choose it with kids or if you have trouble with stairs as the elevator is an antique without full doors and you may at times find the stairs more convenient. There is a quite popular high end restaurant on the first floor, though I did not try it, it seems to be well loved. The staff was friendly, helpful and just an overall plus for the entire experience. The room I stayed in was spacious clean and well appointed. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable option with unique character, outside of the chain hotel cookie cutter style.

Place is clean enough and has good character. Outshined a bit by other new hotels but this one is acceptable if you are okay with fewer amenities and sketchy wifi.

We came back to Miami for a final dress fitting for my boyfriend's sons wedding. We happened to find the Hotel St. Michel located 3 minutes from the dress shop.

Growing up in Sarasota, Fl and living in Massachusetts for 17 years, we appreciated the "old" blended with the "new".

The Hotel St. Michel is quirky, but FUN! From the manual elevator to using keys to unlock the door to the ornate door knobs, this boutique hotel brings back the nostalgia of the 1920s.

Our room was clean, had soft towels, and a firm mattress. Unlike some reviews, we did have hot water. It took some practice getting the temperature right, but it was plentiful.

If you like architecture, history, and old world style mixed with a modern twist, then this is the place for you.

I found this a Beautiful place old world charm but had a problem with not being able to find an ice machine into fill up your tumbler. The elevator is a unique experience it was truly stepping back in time as it requires an operator. AN Absolute first for me

Very solid hotel offering for this price range. Located in a great place, walking distance from the miracle mile and a bunch of very nice restaurants, bars and shops.

The only issue we found was the pressure in the shower, too low.

Chechin and checkout is super easy and the architecture of the building is very nice.

I had such high hopes for this hotel but was left completely disappointed. When I checked in I thought wow this is cool. Old elevator. Old school keys but that is where it ended. I was showed to my room which when I entered the handle on the door fell off. Then it had such a strong mildew smell that I had to open all the windows. Next the room was overlooking the alley and the dumpster which the noise from people throwing out bottles and trash woke me up on a few occasions. I was also woken up with stomping and chairs being moved from the room above because there are no carpets in the rooms. This was all topped off by there being no hot water to shower in the morning. When I brought that to the attention of the front desk clerk the explanation was there is only one boiler and kind of shrugged her shoulders as if saying sorry that’s just the way it is. Do not stay at this hotel unless you want a bad night sleep and a cold shower in the morning.

Excellent hotel, great staff, fair pricing. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times, because in Coral Gables, there's not many that beat the accommodations. Beautiful boutique hotel with responsive staff, only minutes drive (without traffic) from downtown Miami.

Highly recommended.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. Looks like it is straight out of a movie. I recently had the pleasure of interacting with Xavier, at Hotel St. Michel, and I must say, his exceptional service and genuine kindness left a lasting impression. From the moment I reached out, Xavier displayed a remarkable level of professionalism and hospitality. He was prompt in his responses and providing detailed information. The Hotel St. Michel is a place where exceptional service and genuine kindness are the norm. I HIGHLY recommend. This is a beautiful area with a positive environment.

The hotel appears to be nice but you would feel out of place if you don’t dress apart. I was treating my parents for a nice vacation since I came to Coral Gables before. My family came in casual clothing since we just came from Miami. The atmosphere feels tense and it seems only business professionals are allowed here. The room is more for couples not for 3 people so if you have a family coming here only expect amenities to include 2 of everything (2 towel, 2 hand towels, 2 small packets of shampoo and stuff. Very little amenities is given for such a relatively high priced hotel.

The front desk and all of the staff wouldn’t give clear information about parking. I will list it here - street parking is $3.27 per hour. You get free parking from 12AM - 9 AM. They try to upsell you to park in their garage which only covers from 10 PM- 9 AM for $22.

The front desk appears to be nice but felt rushed and her mood changes when we leave like we did something wrong. All we wanted to know was about parking - very impatient.

I would recommend going to Hampton Inn or Aloft for better service. Don’t recommend coming back here.

My family was getting into Miami late (1 AM) and was not sure what to expect. We found the hotel beautiful and full of history with actual keys and a manually operated elevator. The room was clean and comfortable and the remodel of the 1920's building was done well.

All that being said it was the friendliness and attentiveness of the front desk that was the best part of our short stay. He really was incredibly welcoming.

Unexpectedly a fabulous stay! The front desk, the lift, the service, the ice cold AC, the comfy bed, the toiletries, the cleanliness and charm. The restaurant was also a big bonus. I will be making this my new MIA overnight airport hotel. Highly recommend!

Very cute hotel, with the added bonus of an alleyway nearby that has a dozen different restaurants, all within walking distance. The elevator is super charming!

This is a lovely gem of a hotel. It's old and beautifully maintained. The staff are excellent. And the restaurant on the premises is divine. I might go back to Miami just to stay at this hotel.
