2 big and beautiful multicolored roosters evoking the Cuban exiles of Miami and becoming emblematic of Little Havana
These two big and beautiful multicolored roosters that you can't miss on Calle Ocho are in fact two sculptures of the exiled Cuban artist Tony Lopez. These two roosters have become emblematic of Little Havana and they evoke the Cuban exiles of Miami in general. Why roosters? These animals are very present in the Caribbean culture: cockfights, voodoo, food... and a nod to the proud and resigned personality of Cubans. It is also a tribute from the sculptor to his pet rooster to which he was very attached.
