Restored oolitic limestone house with furnished rooms with a park with a cave, a pond and a garden
It was from this oolitic limestone house that George Merrick ran his father's market gardening business before taking over and becoming the founder of the city of Coral Gables. The house has been restored to its 1920s appearance. Fourteen rooms, furnished as they were originally, are open to visitors, as well as a half-acre park with a grotto, an ornamental pond and a garden named "Heritage Garden".
