BAY OF PIGS MUSEUM & LIBRARY
Small museum in memory of the Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba with guided tours with veterans
This small museum commemorates the Bay of Pigs invasion that took place in Cuba between April 17 and 20, 1961, at the height of the Cold War. Orchestrated by the United States, this military operation sent a brigade of 1,511 Cuban exiles to invade the beaches of the Bay of Pigs in Cuba. The 2,506 Brigade had been trained by the CIA. But Castro got wind of the operation: 118 members of the brigade were killed and over 2,000 were imprisoned. Guided tours are conducted by veterans.
