HISTORIC BLACK POLICE PRECINCT COURTHOUSE - MUSEUM
Museum dedicated to Miami's first black police unit, housed in the Black Police Precint.
This museum is dedicated to Miami's first black police unit during segregation. It is housed in the Black Police Precint, a police station reserved for black police officers built in 1950 and closed in 1963, when they were integrated into the Miami Police Department. There are two permanent exhibits: "The First Five", dedicated to the first five black police officers of Miami, and "Courthouse and Judges". The guided tours led by former police officers are fascinating.
