FAIRCHILD TROPICAL GARDENS
This haven of peace of 34 hectares is the second largest tropical garden in the United States. A relaxing and exotic visit.
The largest tropical garden in the United States (except for Hawaii) with an area of 33 hectares. It has more than 11,300 plants, 4,300 different species, 3,800 palms and an equatorial forest that can be visited via trails or on a streetcar. The area was once famous for its long stretches of road lined with giant ficus trees (you'll see pictures of them in the museum). Hurricane Andrew took them down, but if you look around you may find an intact section.
