Historic hotel built in 1897, the first on the West Coast to welcome celebrities and wealthy guests to Clearwater.

It's hard to hold back a "wahou" in front of this historic hotel built in 1897 by Henry Plant, a tourism and railroad magnate to whom we also owe the Tampa Bay Hotel. The first hotel on the West Coast, it welcomed celebrities and rich guests. Superbly renovated, it has retained its presence with its white wooden façade, its porch and its pointed roof. From the chic lobby to the 35 timelessly decorated rooms and the pool with Jacuzzi, everything is an invitation to take your time. A perfect example of the Floridian way of life.

The hotel, rooms and grounds are incredible and speak for themselves (look at the photos) but the service here is next level! My husband and i have been coming here for three years and deb has always been so kind and helpful. We just got to meet lisa and Sandi (manager) and they are both so wonderful. Overall the scenery is amazing but the service is what makes you feel at home and we are so grateful to have found this place.

If I could give this more stars I would. Best experience staying somewhere. They upgraded us for free because we were on our honeymoon. Staff was beyond helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Pool was immaculate. The historic feel was so nice. One of the most not too hard, not too soft beds I've ever slept on.
