This is indeed not a fussy old Victorian era B & B. This is actually a modern rancher home. There is a comfortable common sitting room. The kitchen is cozy.. Breakfast may not be as elaborate perhaps as some fancy places, but quite adequate. There are cereals, breads, joghurt, fresh fruit and juices etc. For those who need more coddling and variety, there is a First Watch perhaps a half mile down the road. This brings up a pretty special aspect about the location you are in. The very charming, new Market District with its many stores and restaurants is also right down the road. This is one of the best designed shopping neighborhoods I have seen in the US. Yet you are close to all the main road arteries.
I should also mention that indeed there is a feel of Merry Old England here, with the most kind and friendly host also coming from that great land. The theme of Old England can be seen in the front yard as well.
So in summary, this is a pleasant and comfortable place to stay, and quite reasonably, with a great location, and wonderful host.
Tracey, the host-owner, will meet you at the door, and is polite, friendly and very professional. Just down the road around a couple of corners are gas stations, restaurants and pretty much anything else you might need. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The hostess (owner) was very accommodating and most gracious. We called about 7pm and inquired about an available room. She was very kind and without delay offered us one of her available rooms. We previously had a reservation at an AirBnB that turned out to be less than advertised. So, we were in need of a place to stay - all surrounding hotels were maxed out.
Not only was the room perfect with an amazing shower, she provided a wonderful breakfast the following morning. She really went out of her way to help us at the very last minute. Also on her recommendation, we ate at “Little Paris Cafe”. That also turned out to be perfect. I enjoyed the grouper and my wife loved the salmon. A great little local restaurant. I really can’t say enough about her, her place, and her hospitality.
We chose to stay in the London room, and it was not only clean and comfortable but also filled with charming English touches that added a unique character to the place. I particularly enjoyed the chainmail helmet on display, which added a touch of medieval charm to the room.
One of the great aspects of this guest house is its convenient location. It's just a short five-minute drive to some excellent restaurants, and Florida State University (FSU) is only about fifteen minutes away by car, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.
In summary, the Little English Guest House provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, a delicious breakfast, and a comfortable room with a touch of English flair. Tracey's hospitality and the overall experience made our stay memorable, and we would highly recommend this charming guest house to anyone visiting Tallahassee.
